Asato rolls his shoulders, pausing in his daily chores of checking and resetting traps while gathering wild fruits and vegetables for supper. He can feel the heat building, knows that he will have to do something to take care of it, but for now, it only forces him to strip to his waist in the humid summer air in an attempt to cool off.

It was a nice afternoon at least...

It's indeed very hot, and Daniel is wearing a bandana over his head, as he would on away missions that demand adaptations to heat. He's stripped down to his t-shirt, and is on his way back to the stone table when he spots Asato.

He's fascinated - he hadn't really wondered what the Ribika looked like sans shirt, but still.

Ears flicking toward the voice first, Asato glances over to Jackson and smiles slightly.

"Hello Daniel Jackson."

That makes him smile in a similar way. Asato is always so sweet - and that appellation reminds him of Teal'c.

"Hello, Asato. I'm sorry - am I intruding?"

Asato shakes his head. "No, it's fine. I've finished checking my traps and was thinking of a swim. You are welcome to join me, if you want?"

The ribika is rather impressed by the build of the human, thinking him to be more of a bookish sort, it hadn't really occurred to Asato that Daniel might be built more like a warrior.

He doesn't hesitate long - it's hot out, and he's in fact getting tired of looking a way out.

And well.

The offer is tempting for more than one reason.

"I'll have to fetch a bathing suit, though. Think the magic cupboard will be amiable?"

There is a brief look of confusion, then Asato nods. "Oh, you are one who dresses to swim." He smiles. "You do not have to, but if you will feel more comfortable..." The ribika shrugs, friendly and understanding and not at all disappointed.

Outwardly.

"As long as you are not uncomfortable that I do not have clothes to swim."

Daniel colours a little, because, well, hm, yes.

"Ah, I see," he says. "Is that the way things are done, here?"

He's willing to adapt - in fact, it's the way he believes anyone should act.

"That is how I am," Asato points out. "But others wear clothes to swim and ... it is better if you are comfortable Daniel Jackson." He smiles, careful not to flash too much fang.

"This is to be for fun after all."

Daniel's smile is very soft.

"Alright."

He actually simply pulls his t-shirt over his head, sheds the bandana, then the shoes and the socks.

"There are simpler options."

The pants are gone and he's down to his boxers.

"Who's in first?"

He'll run to the water, but Asato's welcome to beat him to it. He still has his glasses on. Wait til that becomes a problem.

Asato blinks and strips quickly, not really one to wear clothes under his clothes, before chasing after Daniel. He doesn't beat him to the water, but he almost does and he will jump right in.

Well, in the process of diving, guess what happened to Daniel?

Did he loose his glasses?

Miraculously, no.

Did he lose his shorts?

You bet he did.

The're floating up right over his head as he resurfaces.

Asato has no clothes on to lose and so pops up without any trouble.

The boxers are something new though and do catch his eye as he reaches to pick them up.

Which leads to a very comical situation, at least for the typist.

Daniel resurfaces, only to find Asato holding his underwear.

He can't help but laugh, though.

Nerves can be blamed.

Asato blinks, then smiles and laughs softly as well. "Sorry." He holds them out. "You lost these."

"Not that they're very useful at this point," Daniel replies, and really, he secretly enjoys the comfort of being nude in the water.

So he balls them up, then throws them to the shore, and grins at Asato.

That makes Asato brighten and he lightly splashes Daniel before moving back. "It's better to swim without them too."

That comment makes Daniel extremely aware of his own danglies, but also of the fact that Asato has some.

It's unsettling, but not in a bad way.

The cat gets splashed back.

Asato chuckles and shakes the water from his hair, letting his ears flick. "Do you play like this where you're from, Daniel Jackson?"

"Of course," he replies. "Though myself, not so much."

He makes a face.

"All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy."

The reference, of course, goes right over Asato's head. "Then it's good you're not Jack. And you're not dull either. But, it is good to play every now and again."

And Daniel was so proud of himself!

Asato really does remind him of Teal'c by his alien-ness. (Of course, Teal'c would find the current situation very undignified.)

That thought makes Daniel chuckle.

"It very much is. I have some friends back home who would agree," Jack, actually. "And others who could do with learning a few things from you."

"I don't have much to teach, but if it makes you smile, then I am happy," Asato says, pleased that Daniel is having fun.
