Asato rolls his shoulders, pausing in his daily chores of checking and resetting traps while gathering wild fruits and vegetables for supper. He can feel the heat building, knows that he will have to do something to take care of it, but for now, it only forces him to strip to his waist in the humid summer air in an attempt to cool off.

It was a nice afternoon at least...

Asato is putting the last minute touches on his blades before heading out into the snowy forest for a hunt. A bit of fowl would be nice and he could share it with Merlin if the old human was willing. Perhaps even a hare. Those were quite tasty.

He wondered for a moment if he should seek out Benjen for a hunt, but he wasn't sure if the human was available or willing.

Asato didn't like the Mansion much, but it did occasionally have useful things in it.

Not having Konoe around though meant that some of the habits the other cat had been trying to instill in him had fallen out of use. Such as using doors.

The big building intimidated him and the doors always seemed to be locked or in use by one of the people that lived inside so Asato preferred the windows.

He was, in fact, climbing into a window now in search of a good knife he could use to skin a rabbit he'd caught.

This time Asato was ready for it. The feelings of restlessness, of warmth, and of a desire to be around people was enough of a warning to send him out into the woods again. He was armed with his sword, blankets, a tent and enough supplies to last him a week just in case.

When he'd made camp, far away from everyone, it was already much too hot and he curled up on his blankets, shutting his eyes and curling up on himself.

It's spring and that means it's time for Asato and his heat. He'll be away from the Mansion for a little over a week and will not be friendly to strangers or people he doesn't totally trust.

Asato was glad that the day had dawned clear and not too cold and there didn't seem to be a storm coming. All in all, a good day to spend outside.

The Ribika gathered up his tools for the day, taking care not to tangle the netting, and stowed it all in a shoulder bag before going to meet with Neville. The greenhouse wasn't a far walk and, remembering his manners, he knocked before opening the door.

So, fishing trip for Neville and Asato.

It's been a while since Asato has seen his new friend Neville, indeed since he's seen a number of his friends here, but he knows they're fine. He's caught their scents around and while he would love to speak to them, he still has moments of being shy and worried he'll be a bother.

For the moment though, he's sitting on the railing of one of the Mansion's many porches/verandas and cleaning off some wild berries he's found.

His fingers are stained a bit, and he's eaten a few for make sure they're harmless, so now he's wondering if he should share...

Like the subject header says, for Neville. Still, anyone that would dearly like to bother a cat-man, let me know.

The weather was warm enough for proper fishing and so Asato was standing in the lake, water lapping at his stomach, following the movements of fish with his eyes. Standing still, he was allowing them to get closer and closer, before lashing out and snapping one up in his hands.

He was beaming and setting the fish aside in a reed woven basket he'd strapped to his back. Gifts of food were one way of courting, right? Did humans do that as well?

Asato's been a bit quiet as of late and has been roaming rather restlessly around. He can't quite help the longing for other cats, even the ones that Konoe told him were bad. Just something familiar would be nice. At this point, Asato would even welcome Rai with a butt of his head and flick of his tail.

He knew it wasn't to be though, so he'd been keeping to himself so that he wouldn't worry any of his friends or family. The feelings would pass and he would get back to normal.

Then there was the question of Miles... What to do about those feelings? Were they felings at all? He wasn't Ribika and there was Konoe but still... Who could he ask about such a thing?

Just a little scene of sorts. Asato's feeling a bit down and lonely again. Not in the main comm as it can happen at any time and is mostly for familiar faces and friends/family. Feel free to run into him anywhere: library, kitchen, main room, forest, outside The Merlin's hut, etc

Asato didn't like the rain. He huddled up further under the tree canopy and curled his tail around him further. His cloak was getting soaked through and he figured he'd eventually have to brave the full force of the spring storm to get inside the mansion and dry off, but he wasn't really looking forward to that.

Times like this, he missed his tiny hut in his home village. Or even Bardo's inn. Something warm and safe.

Like I said, for Merlin, but if someone wants to chat with a water-logged kitty, feel free to poke me.

OOC: Please read the note I've put in the ooc comm before tagging or at least let me know what you'd like to do. As I said, this post is for Anita and Merlin, but anyone is welcome to tag in. Thank you!

Asato was very curious about the book in the library after speaking with Miles. He didn't know if he'd actually see the strange man again, but ...

He carried the book he'd been read to from all over the place and eventually, he was back in the library, curled up behind a chair, with the book open as he went carefully over the pictures. His tail was curled around his waist and his ears were flat against his skull. Just like before, at first glance, one might think he was human.
