It was much too hot. That was his first clue and what first had him seeking a place in the forest for himself. Asato never had claimed a room of his own (he hadn't even considered the idea that he was allowed) and so had no place to lock himself into when it started.

The heat was followed by pain and need and restless energy as it always was. There were no other Ribika here he would or could seek out and even if they're were, they wouldn't have been Konoe.

So, Asato would have to content himself with the makeshift shelter he'd made in the forest. A simple canopy over a collection of blankets he'd taken from the cupboards inside with a few objects of interest. He was trying to distract himself from the discomfort with a book, but eventually he could even focus on that and just lay down, curled up on himself, and tried not to cry.

even MORE ooc notes: He's in pain, and might be a bit more tense and snippy than is normal for him, but he's still Asato and still friendly.

You can always count on the Merlin to show up when someone he likes has a problem. He's going to be at a respectful distance, to start, and will crouch, to be at Asato's level.

Merlin's not active anywhere atm, so there he is. Will send Anita a bit later, when her situation with the 9308390840398 boys she sleeps with is a bit more clear to her and her typist - and therefore I know what headspace she's in. &hearts

Black ears flick towards the approching sounds first and Asato looks up when Merlin speaks. His cheeks are flushed and he's breathing a bit harder than usual, but he still sits up out of respect.

"Hello," he offers hesitantly. He's not sure why Merlin is here...

No worries! A Merlin is very much welcome and adored. ^^

He ventures a little bit closer. "Son, you look ill," he tells him gently. "--- let me help you?"

He's -- trying to piece it out. And not sure what he can do, if mating is what the cat needs.

Asato's ears fold back and he shies away a bit. "I'm ... I'm okay. Really."

There's a bit of fear there, though it's not directed at Merlin personally. Asato just doesn't know what to expect from non-Ribika when he's like this.

"No, son, you are not," he replies quietly. "I shan't hurt you - I'm your friend, and I want to help you. Let me?"

He unfolds a bit, though he's still got his hands over his stomach and his tail curled around his waist.

"But ... you're not Ribika. Can you help?"

"I can try. Do you know what --" a beat. "-- but you are male -- do male Ribika also have their heat?"

Well Adrian will certainly find him, sooner or later. He does have quite a keen sense of smell, one of the perks of being a Moroi. When he discovers his makeshift shelter, he'll be firstly happy to see the book; this means Asato has been trying to read.

But then he'll notice that something is definitely wrong.

Asato can hear someone approach and for a moment he's tempted to climb up a tree to escape, but then his nose catches up to his ears and he relaxes a bit. Adrian was a good person and wouldn't be mean.

So, he'll open his eyes and smile slightly at the young non-cat before sitting up and running a hand through damp hair.

"Hi."

"Hey you" - in a very mild, somewhat worried tone. "What are you up to here, isolated?"

Adrian will keep a cautious distance for now, he doesn't want to frighten or annoy Asato.

Distance is good for now. Adrian is a friend, but Asato isn't sure what he will do.

"I'm keeping away until it's done."

"Until what is done?"

Adrian crouches on the ground, trying not to look very worried - his friend definitely seems troubled by something.

Ears flick forward and Asato considers Adrian. "The heat."

There's going to be a cat sitting on her hunches, not too far.

She's observing him, and if he's not flailing her off, she might quietly pad over and just curl up around him protectively.

Anita isn't flailed off and he's grateful for the company, shifting over to curl up against her warm side and bury his face in her fur. He still doesn't know what to make of the kindness he's being shown, but ... he's not going to say no.

She'll purr a little, it's easy to cuddle with pard when you're a cat. She doesn't speak but might shift to curl more closely into him, just trying to give him heat. She's needed it before, she knows the feeling.

Asato answers her purr with one of his own. "Thank you," he says, voice soft and muffled against her.

"I'm sorry for being a burden."

The leopard purrs a little louder, nuzzles him soothingly. Silly cat. You're not a burden, she's saying. It's almost motherly - it's certainly protective.

"Don't be silly," she purrs. "You're pack."

Aaaand might we poke Asato and Iggy in their threads with the dragon and her knight?

It had been awhile since Miles had seen Asato. He was ashamed that in the confusion of the Red Moon he had forgotten, but now he was worried. Where could his Ribika friend be?

He remembered where Asato had shown him the shelter in the woods and decided to look there.

Asato iis curled up under some blankets he'd taken from an empty bedroom, dozing. His ears will flick towards the sound before Miles actually enters his little spot, and he looks up, pushing sweat-soaked hair back from his face.

"Asato!" Miles exclaims with a smile. "Here you are. I've missed you."

Asato brightens at the familiar face. "Miles! Hello." He sits up and smiles happily at his friend.

"Were you looking for me? I am sorry. I was here."

Miles notices the unkempt state of his friend. "Have you been feeling unwell?" he asks with concern, wondering if that was why Asato hadn't left his shelter.

Asato blushes a bit, though it's hard to tell, and he nods. "It's alright though. It'll be over soon and I'll be better."
