The cat files away the name for later. The warmth from the fire and the tea are going a long way to making him feel alive again and he's content enough to ignore that his hair and fur has dried into a bit of a mess.

"I've never smelled another like you."

"Perhaps you will find similarities when you meet him," Merlin tells him. "The lad is as close to kin in his nature as any will ever get."

And his typist has been poked, so he'll be around for a three-way eventually. ^^

"Really? I look forward to meeting him then." He smiles.

Merlin smiles back. "I hope you get on well. He did not always stay on good terms with the previous lads."

Though this one's not a bard, so maybe it will help. Merlin's not even sure.

He's not a bard, but he is very fond of music. "Did they fight?" He's used to that sort of thing.

"Not quite, it was more a matter of quietness, truly."

From:

"Oh, I see." He considers this, tail flicking beside him. "I like music, but I can't make it. I will try my best to be quiet."

Merlin gives him a gentle smile. "I'm sure you will, lad. I have every faith in you."

And what do you think of the below plan?

No worries. &hearts His typist has been duly poked, letting her jump in at this point, if that's okay. ^^

Most likely, Sebastian has been out. Probably visiting Guinevere, or else figuring out how he's going to hunt down the particular target he's looking for right now.

It puts him in a slightly poor mood, so when he stalks into the hut his eyes are like chips of emerald (nearly literally) until he realizes that someone else is there.

"--good afternoon," he says, with a glance at Merlin that is a plain question mark.

Merlin smiles pleasantly at Sebastian, as if to say, it's alright, I think you might like this one.

"Son," he says, "This is my friend Asato, of the Ribika folk - like you and I, one of his kind, here. He was in need of shelter."

He smiles a bit.

"Asato, meet Sebastian, who lives here as well and is a dear friend, nigh kin to me."

So, shall we do Merlin-Asato-Seb, in this order? ^^

Asato smiles a little, feeling a bit like he might be in trouble or something even if Merlin's welcomed him. He's careful not to show fangs.

"Hello Sebastian." He can be friendly.

Sounds good to me. ^^

Sebastian seems almost amused. "What did you do?" He asks, though with a slight nod at Merlin to acknowledge the introduction.

Not in a very polite mood, perhaps. We apologize to Asato - he'll get better.

Merlin glances at Sebastian - it's almost a warning. "It was raining," he volunteers, as if it explained everything.

From:

Asato glances from one to the other, ears flicking forward. "He said it would be alright if I came in..." He's unsure now.

From:

"It's all right with me," Sebastian says at once, forcing his voice to ease, though he can't change his eyes, so easily. "I was just wondering - the other one and I are both here because we got in trouble with someone over there. But that's lucky for you if you haven't."

Merlin nods, gives Asato a kind smile, and might go off and make food, listening from the kitchen. He's still in visible range, though, and will probably be interjecting - he's a meddler that way.

So, don't worry, I'm still tagging, will be posting Merlin as the old man yelling things from the kitchen. *g*

Asato shook his head. "Oh, no. I didn't upset anyone I don't think... I was living in the forest."

From:

"Then never mind," he says - Sebastian caught Merlin's warning look, and he's not going to ignore it. He does need somewhere to stay. "You're welcome here. It's not my decision to make, but for what it's worth-" He shrugs.

Merlin smiles to himself, approvingly. The lad needs a friend, he reckons.

"It's worth enough, son," Merlin replies from the cauldron he's working at filling up. "It's fate that you showed up this once."

Asato relaxes a bit and smiles, tail flicking. "Then... thank you. I hope we can get along." He doesn't want to cause a fuss after all and thinks that Sebastian should indeed have a say.
